Formed by partners Julie Graham and Maria Friedrich in 1998, with decades-long knowledge of the global art market, and in close connection with respected art galleries worldwide, the aim of the partnership is offering quality advice in building and managing private Fine Art collections. We serve a distinguished group of serious collectors, offering a full range of curatorial services, including advising and executing individual acquisitions, and building art collections reflecting the unique aesthetic of the client. We offer comprehensive archival and research services, residential art installation, execution of deaccessions, and the creation of collection catalogue publications, in collaboration with the finest art professionals in todays market, including conservators, framers, archivists, and appraisers.

Graham & Friedrich has facilitated artwork loans from client collections to institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Gallery, London; The Whitney Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, MoMA PS1, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Phillips Collection, and The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Graham & Friedrich has also lent their services as guest curators to unique projects for various institutions and museums. Among them as co-curators for the Aspen Art Museum’s exhibition POWDER, which examined how modern and contemporary artists use pulverized materials to give meaning to the art object. This exhibition featured works by Jean Dubuffet, Joseph Cornell, Roni Horn, Yves Klein, Mark Rothko, Wolfgang Laib, and Antoni Tapies, to name a few. Additionally Graham & Friedrich has guided and/or contributed to publications such as ‘What It Meant to Be Modern, 1910-1965’ for the Denver Art Museum, and ‘The Image of Modernism’ in collaboration with the Pace/MacGill Gallery and Barbara Haskell of the Whitney Museum of Art.
